Service
Website design and development that produces inquiries
Most business websites are brochures that happen to be online. We build sites that do a job: explain the offer in seconds, answer the questions that stall a decision, and hand a qualified inquiry to whoever needs to act on it.
What this service is, in plain terms
A website earns its cost in one of three ways. It brings in people who were not going to find you otherwise, it convinces people who were already looking, or it removes work from your team by answering questions and collecting information before a human gets involved. A site that does none of those three is an expense with a domain name attached.
We start from the second and third jobs because they pay back fastest. Traffic takes months to build. Conversion and intake can improve in weeks, on the visitors you already have. That order also protects the budget: there is no point paying to send more people to a page that loses them.
Every build is a real codebase, not a page builder stacked with plugins. Pages are server-rendered so they load fast on a phone on a job site, the content is editable without a developer, and the analytics and form routing are wired in on day one instead of bolted on after launch.
The situation
What usually brings people to this page
Visitors cannot tell what you do in five seconds
The headline describes a category rather than an outcome, the first screen is a stock photo, and the specific thing you are better at is buried three scrolls down. People do not scroll to find out. They open the next tab, which is usually a competitor who said it plainly.
The form is the only path forward, and it is too long
One contact form with nine required fields, no phone number, no pricing context, no indication of what happens next. Buyers who are ready to talk right now have nowhere to go, and buyers who are still researching have nothing to read. Both leave without a trace.
It is slow, and slow costs you the mobile visitor
Uncompressed hero images, four tracking scripts, and a theme carrying code for features you never used. On a phone over cellular that is a five second wait before anything appears. Most of that audience is gone before the first paint, and Google notices the pattern too.
Inquiries land in an inbox and stall there
The form emails one person. That person is on a job, at lunch, or on holiday. Nothing tracks whether a reply went out, nothing escalates after an hour, and nobody can say at the end of the month how many inquiries arrived or what happened to them.
Scope
What you get
Everything below is included in a standard engagement. Anything outside it is quoted separately and named before work starts.
Message and structure workshop
Before any design, we write the offer in plain language: who it is for, what changes, why you, and what it costs to find out. That document drives the page order and every headline on the site.
Custom design system, not a template
Type scale, color roles, spacing and component set built for your brand and checked against WCAG 2.2 AA contrast. Everything is reusable, so new pages later look like they belong.
Conversion-focused page set
Home, services, individual service pages, about, contact and any proof pages. Each page has one primary action and one secondary action, and no page dead-ends.
Mobile-first build
Designed at 390px first and widened from there, with tap targets at least 44px, forms that do not trigger horizontal scroll, and click-to-call in the header on every phone-sized screen.
Speed budget enforced at build time
Images converted and sized at build, fonts subset and preloaded, third-party scripts deferred. We hold Largest Contentful Paint under 2.5 seconds on a mid-range Android over 4G.
Intake wired to your follow-up
Forms write to a database you own, notify the right person by email or SMS, and can trigger an automated acknowledgment so nobody waits a day to hear back.
Technical SEO foundation
Clean URL structure, one H1 per page, unique titles and descriptions, organization and breadcrumb structured data, XML sitemap, canonical tags and a robots file that does not accidentally block you.
Analytics and conversion tracking
Google Analytics 4 with events for form submissions, phone taps and key page depth, plus Search Console verified and the sitemap submitted, so month two has data to argue with.
Editing access and a handover session
You get the content editing path, a written walkthrough, and a recorded session. The site is yours: the repository, the domain, the database and the analytics property.
How it runs
The process, start to finish
Example schedule for a standard business site.
- 01
Discovery and offer definition
A working session on who buys, what they compare you against, and which questions stall the decision. We audit the current site's analytics and search data if it exists, and agree the one number the project is trying to move.
Week 1 - 02
Structure and copy
Sitemap, page-by-page outline, then written copy for every page before design. Writing first is what stops a site from being pretty and empty. You review in a document, where changes are cheap.
Weeks 1–2 - 03
Design and build
Design system, then key page designs, then the build. You see the real site on a staging URL early and keep seeing it as pages land, rather than waiting for a reveal at the end.
Weeks 2–5 - 04
Launch, measure, adjust
Redirect map from old URLs, launch, then two weeks of watching real behavior. We fix what the data exposes, hand over the documentation, and agree what happens next.
Week 5–6
Outcomes
What changes when this is working
More inquiries from the same traffic
Clear positioning, multiple contact paths and a shorter form lift the share of visitors who act. This is the fastest available gain because it does not depend on rankings.
Faster first response
Routing and automatic acknowledgment mean inquiries get a reply in minutes rather than the next working day, which is usually the difference between a conversation and a competitor.
A base that SEO can actually build on
Clean structure, real speed and correct markup are prerequisites for ranking. Skipping them makes every later marketing dollar work harder for less.
Less internal admin
Structured intake means the information you need to quote arrives with the inquiry, instead of being chased over three emails.
Investment
How pricing works
We quote a fixed price for a defined scope after the discovery conversation. There is no hourly meter and no surprise invoice at the end. The two things that move a number are how many distinct page templates the site needs and how much of the content we write from scratch.
What moves the number
- Number of unique page templates, not number of pages: twelve service pages sharing one template cost far less than four bespoke layouts.
- Who writes the copy. Us writing everything from interviews is the most common choice and the largest single line item.
- Integrations. A form that emails someone is simple; a form that checks availability, writes to your CRM and books a slot is a small software project.
- Migration complexity. Hundreds of existing URLs with rankings to preserve needs a careful redirect map and audit.
- Whether you need ongoing content and technical support after launch or want to take it in house.
If your budget is genuinely tight, we will tell you which single page to fix first rather than sell you a rebuild you do not need yet.
Typical timelines
- Focused site, five to seven pages
- 3–4 weeks
- Standard business site with service pages
- 5–7 weeks
- Larger site with locations, industries and migration
- 8–12 weeks
Yes. Text, images and page content are editable without touching code, and you get a recorded walkthrough. Structural changes such as a new page template are a developer job, and we are happy to do those or hand the repository to whoever you prefer.
Usually not. We build a modern server-rendered site because it is faster, more secure and cheaper to maintain than a theme with a dozen plugins. If you have an internal team committed to WordPress we will work with that instead of forcing a migration.
We inventory every existing URL, map each to its new equivalent, and put permanent redirects in place at launch. Rankings usually wobble for a week or two and recover, and improved speed and structure typically leave you ahead of where you started.
Most business sites run five to seven weeks from kickoff. The single biggest variable is content: projects where we interview you once and write everything move faster than projects waiting on internally written copy.
We deploy to managed edge hosting and can either manage it for you or hand over the account. Either way the domain, code, database and analytics are in your name from the start.
About four hours of your time in total: one discovery session, one copy review, one design review and one handover. Plus access to the domain, any existing analytics, and your logo files if you have them.
