Service

Paid advertising measured against booked work

Ads are the fastest way to find out whether your offer works, and the fastest way to waste money if the page behind them does not convert. We run campaigns that are judged on inquiries and revenue, not impressions.

What this service is, in plain terms

Paid search is rented demand. You stop paying, it stops arriving. That is not a reason to avoid it, but it is a reason to be clear about the job it is doing: filling a gap while organic search matures, testing whether a message resonates before you build twenty pages around it, or covering a seasonal spike.

The most common failure is not the campaign. It is sending expensive clicks to a page that talks about the company instead of the thing the person searched for. We check the destination before we touch a bid, and if the page is wrong we fix it or say plainly that ads are premature.

Reporting is the other half. If your reports end at clicks and cost per click, nobody can tell whether the money worked. We track the inquiry, tag its source, and report cost per inquiry and, where the sales cycle allows it, cost per booked job.

The situation

What usually brings people to this page

  • You are paying for clicks that were never going to buy

Broad match plus an empty negative keyword list means budget going to research queries, job seekers and people in a different state. It looks like traffic in the dashboard and produces nothing in the inbox.

  • Ads point at the homepage

Someone searches a specific problem, clicks, and lands on a general page where they have to hunt. Every extra step loses a share of the visitors you just paid for.

  • Nobody can connect spend to revenue

The platform reports conversions, the office reports jobs, and the two numbers have never been reconciled. Without tracking that survives the form submission, optimization is guesswork.

  • Whoever set it up left, and it has run untouched since

Ad copy referencing an old offer, budget on a paused service line, and automated recommendations accepted without review. Campaigns decay; unattended ones decay expensively.

Scope

What you get

Everything below is included in a standard engagement. Anything outside it is quoted separately and named before work starts.

  • Account and conversion audit

Existing account structure, wasted spend, tracking accuracy and landing page quality reviewed before any new money goes in. Frequently the first win is switching things off.

  • Conversion tracking that reconciles

Form submissions, phone taps and call tracking wired to Google Ads and Analytics 4, with the source stored against the inquiry record so it can be matched to a real job later.

  • Campaign build with tight intent

Campaigns split by service and intent, exact and phrase match on the terms that matter, and a substantial negative keyword list built from day one rather than after three months of waste.

  • Ad copy written per service

Ads that name the service, the area and the differentiator, with extensions for phone, location and specific offerings, matched to the search rather than to the brand.

  • Landing pages that match the ad

A page per campaign theme with the same language as the ad, one clear action, proof, and a short form. Built by us so it is fast and measurable.

  • Local and remarketing layers

Geographic targeting sized to where you actually travel, plus remarketing to people who visited and did not convert, capped so it does not become a nuisance.

  • Weekly management

Search term review, negative keyword additions, bid and budget adjustments, ad testing. Weekly, because the search term report is where money is saved.

  • Monthly reporting in business terms

Spend, inquiries, cost per inquiry, and where the budget went by service, with a short note on what changed and what we are testing next.

How it runs

The process, start to finish

  1. 01

    Audit and readiness check

We review the existing account, the tracking and the destination pages, and tell you whether ads are the right next spend or whether the page or the offer needs work first.

    Week 1
  2. 02

    Instrument before spending

Conversion tracking, call tracking and analytics events go in first. Launching without them means the first month teaches you nothing.

    Week 1–2
  3. 03

    Launch narrow, then widen

Start on the highest-intent terms with a controlled budget. Expand only into what proves out, rather than launching broad and hoping to prune later.

    Weeks 2–6
  4. 04

    Optimize on inquiry cost

Weekly search term reviews and ad tests, monthly budget reallocation toward the services that produce work, and honest conversations about what is not paying.

    Ongoing

Outcomes

What changes when this is working

  • Inquiries within days

Unlike SEO, paid search produces volume as soon as it is switched on, which makes it the right tool when you need pipeline this month.

  • Less wasted spend

Tight match types and a real negative list typically remove a meaningful share of clicks that were never going to convert.

  • A number you can decide with

Cost per inquiry, and where possible cost per booked job, lets you scale a channel deliberately rather than by feel.

  • Evidence for the rest of the marketing

The phrases that convert in ads tell you exactly which pages and content to build organically, which shortens the SEO learning curve.

Investment

How pricing works

Management is a flat monthly fee based on account complexity, not a percentage of spend. Percentage pricing gives an agency a reason to recommend spending more, and we would rather not have that incentive. Ad spend is paid directly to the platform on your own account.

What moves the number

  • Number of campaigns and services being advertised.
  • Number of platforms. Search only is simpler than search plus paid social.
  • Whether landing pages need to be built or already exist.
  • Whether call tracking and offline conversion import are required.
  • Geographic spread, since multiple markets need separate structure and budgets.

There is a minimum viable spend below which nothing can be learned. If your budget is under it, we will say so rather than take a management fee to run a campaign that cannot generate signal.

Questions

Frequently asked

Going deeper? Website first or ads first?

Enough to generate roughly thirty clicks a week on your core terms, which is the point where the data means something. In most local service categories that is a few hundred to a couple of thousand dollars a month, and we will estimate it from real cost per click data in your market before you commit.
